Yasser Mostafa Engineering Consultancy (YMEC) is established and managed by Prof. Dr. Yasser El Sayed Ibrahim Mostafa. Dr. Yasser has extensive consulting engineering experience in Canada, Egypt and the Middle East.
YMEC provides engineering services for all project phases including conceptual design, preliminary design, detailed design and construction supervision. Our target is to provide the Egyptian and Middle East market with high quality engineering services and competitive rates. We believe in sustainable design and value engineering. In today’s competitive markets, projects must achieve high quality standards with reasonable costs.

With extensive experience in harbor and coastal engineering and marine structures, YMEC can provide master planning and design of different port elements such as breakwaters, quay walls, jetties and mooring analysis. YMEC can also provide solutions for coastal projects such as shore protection, construction supervision and environmental impact assessment to coastal projects. Specialist capabilities include analysis and design of offshore structures.
YMEC has experience in civil/structure engineering in general and particularly related to hydrocarbons projects such as pipelines, onshore and offshore oil and gas facilities, pipe racks, T-posts, machine foundations and foundations for different equipment. Also, YMEC has experience in civil/structure engineering related to power projects.
YMEC has experience in many areas of geotechnical engineering, especially shallow foundation, pile design and construction, retaining walls, slope stability, settlement and liquefaction assessment.
YMEC is capable of providing project management services to infrastructure and hydrocarbons projects. We use the standards of Project Management Institute (PMI) to successfully complete projects on time and within budget.
YMEC has gained experience in preparing environmental impact assessment studies for coastal and marine projects and industrial projects.
Yasser Mostafa Engineering Consultancy (YMEC) is founded and managed by Prof. Dr. Yasser El Sayed Mostafa. Dr. Yasser Mostafa is a Professor of Harbour Engineering and Marine Structures at the Faculty of Engineering, Ain Shams University. Dr. Yasser has over 27 years of experience in civil engineering and project management in the infrastructure and oil & gas sectors. His experience covers port and coastal engineering, offshore engineering, geotechnical and structure engineering. He received BSc. and MSc. Degrees in Civil Engineering from Ain Shams University, Egypt in 1995 and 1998, respectively. He received his Ph.D. in 2002 from the University of Western Ontario, Canada. He is a licensed Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) in British Columbia and Ontario, Canada. Also, he is registered as a Consultant in the Egyptian Syndicate of Engineers.
Dr. Yasser Mostafa has extensive consulting industrial experience through working with international firms in Egypt and Canada such as WorleyParsons, Golder Associates and Thurber Engineering. He provided and participated in providing engineering consulting services to major clients such as British Petroleum (BP), Gulf of Suez Petroleum Company (GUPCO), RWE, HESS, Khalda Petroleum, Citadel Capital, Ain Shams University Consulting Center, Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport (AASTM) and UDC 5+. Dr. Yasser Mostafa has experience working as a project manager, engineering manager, proposal manager and lead civil/structure engineer at WorleyParsons. He worked as a team leader in marine projects, oil and gas projects, infrastructure and power projects.
In addition to his consulting engineering experience, Dr. Yasser has extensive teaching experience. He taught courses in Harbor Engineering, Marine and Offshore Structures, Hydraulic Structures and Coastal Environment Engineering. Through his career, he authored and co-authored more than 30 papers published in international and local journals and international conference proceedings in the field of piles, marine and offshore structures, scour around marine structures, retaining walls and coastal engineering. He also supervised and co-supervised more than 10 M.Sc. and Ph.D. theses.
